Notes to sort out later

Created Thursday 10 November 2022

The maligned are mysterious is all anyone knows
Not even the gods remember where they come from, because they were already there when they were born. Except maybe Orin but they have forgotten a lot from before their children were externalized
Externalized being a weird way to say that Orin thought the Oric gods into existence one time
This was because their psyche was beginning to fracture, so they made the fractures into their own beings.
Orin is of the last generation of gods, the same generation as Gama-Oma and the father of humanity, amongst many forgotten ones

The current era has lasted eight hundred years. Only three things are known from the last era: this is probably when the maligned came to be, this era was when the last generation of gods before this one reigned, and the last era was not the first and the last generation of gods was not the first
Also there wasn't any mortals before the current era the current era was the first with mortals
I am fully purposefully hiding lore that I've already got in mind tbh
Mostly because it gets explored in yhe narrative and I'm a coy shit
If you wanna I can tell you but its theoretically spoilers

One thing we know from the last era also actually is that the last era was the end of some sort of eons long strife (that Orins godly children theorize might be what caused Orins psyche to fracture)
Orin never speaks of it but Gama-oma did and the Oric gods get random visions of some horrible something that they can never really remember and only really experience emotionally
Xanjecenazax (Xanjec being the accepted shortening) is seen as the embodiment of the fracturing itself.
They are different and weirdly seem fairly maligned coded
They got big white wings with black inklike something dripping from yhe tips with long sharp cruel claws that also drink that substance, which is a poison that causes extreme hallucinations and also takes over the mind of the afflicted, making them into Xanjac's thrall
I remember I listed like, domains for Xanjac but truth be told gods just have roles, not actual domains
They also overlap a bunch
Xanjac is the adversary of Orin, basically
His very own Lucifer
Xanjac is tall, extremely thin, weirdly long in proportions, and has sharp teeth that are also inky. His eyes are pitch black and his skin is paper white with the slightest tint of blue.
Xanjac's spear has their blood running through jt also both Xanjac and Orin are genderless and technically so are the rest but the rest are like he's or she's (minus one whos a she they)
Orin and Xanjac are they/hes
[9:31 AM]
The rule for Orin is basically they/them unless you're talking about the Orin, his mortal children, at the same time then its he/him because otherwise that's confusinf
The Orin always refers to "The Oric People" and Orin always refers to the god
Orins sanctuary is a big ol library
Theres basically two things a God can theoretically have if they manifest it: a sanctuary and an artifact, usually a weapon
Engadrian has his city and his walls, Gama-Oma has the Guhagama, Xanjac has their spear, Orin has their city (Also called Orin)
I was mostly joking about the city but is there a way to make that work without being dumb as hell like
The Orin in Orin are under the protection of Orin
Maybe
Orinat
Orinat is the city, the Orin are the people, Orin is the god
Orinate is one of the Orin from Orinat

The fun thing about the Orin is im wearing the hellenic inspiration on my sleeve
The other oric diety known for good at war is a level headed city builder who is mostly an administrator and is a she/her
So we have a administrative city goddess who war and a violent aggro god who war
Athena and Ares but Ares is also Satan
Tho Xanjac's thralls aren't highly trained protofascists
They're berserkers
They also aren't Orin by their nature! Anyone can be a thrall if they got Xanjac's poison in their veins.
Xanjac has a single motive: kill Orin and take their place.
Xanjac does have a city but it's like, a prison city-state where people are exiled if they murder or do other heinous crimes
They're also like, only nominally the patron of that city
They have a sanctuary there, that's basically the only reason

Xanjac was the one i made be born from Orins forehead iirc
Yes I borrowed that
The rest were thought into being, Xanjac tore their way out in the midst of a psychosis induced nightmare
Yknow I'm pretty sure Xanjac doesn't consider themself a child of Orin
They are the fracture that took in Orins mind, not a thought given life.

The only tactic Xanjac has is fear and confusion
Purely psychological warfare
Orin don't war, so Eyalatyar (Eya) is usually the one to lead. Eya is the aforementioned city building administrator who also war. She's the patron of the close-by Eyalat

Xanjec's patron city is of course Xanjecenazaxat
Also I didn't realize I slowly changed from Xanjec to Xanjac
Xanjecenazaxat is usually just called Ojezat, meaning jail city
Because, surprise, its a prison city
